Musings of an average girl

It was Friday, it was a beautiful day. I had just #400 with me, it wasn't enough to get me to where I was headed, but every time I look back to that day, it remains beautiful, like it had been specially blessed by God for me. I had borrowed #1000 from a friend to get me to where I was headed. I was to go for an interview for a position I thought was beneath me, but since I had no money to even feed, my friend told me quite bluntly that I was not really in a position to choose. I arrived the company premises, sat down for some minutes, before I was escorted to a consulting room. I entered and saw a man, light skinned, seated. He pointed me to a seat. He was the interviewer. I was nervous, no, not nervous, embarrassed to be in this position because of money. He asked questions that were necessary for an interview and others that I felt were very unnecessary.     Its been a week since the incident in Blessing's house and she was still in perpetual night. It was as if the sun set and refused to rise. The complete lack of an apology from Melvin didn't help her pride at all. So, she had meant nothing to him? Or maybe she had served her purpose. She never should have branched out into advertising. The company was doing well before. But the need to make Melvin acknowledge her one way or the other was too great. She had to propose ridiculously low budgets to get the jobs they bid on, but the other areas of the company made up for the lack of profit from advertising. She gave a self-depreciating laugh. This went against all she thought she was. She was a modern confident woman who didn't need to play games to attract attention, Yet here she was. It seems when it came to Melvin, she didn't know herself at all. She had deliberately made stupid business decisions because of some misplaced hurt. And to what end? At the end of the day, ...

   Its been 8 months since they had that talk. Meldive media had won the bid and had been awarded the contract. The Sparkles advert campaign was the whole package since they were launching the product into the market for the first time. And so Meldive had had to come up with an all-inclusive plan that included Outdoor advertising, print media adverts, TV and radio adverts, creation and management of pages on various social media platforms, shows/fiestas in parks and other busy places as well as give aways/prizes.     Its been a very busy 5 months since the campaign began and their efforts had started paying off. They had stopped the shows/fiestas a week ago and sales were still as high and if all went well, they would pull the plug on the give aways in a month's time. This is a series. The entire story would be too long for one post. Personally, i feel one post stories are rushed as i like to develop my characters. Sometimes, the story takes on a life of its own.
